What is POF Shrink Film, Major Applications of POF Shrink Film

I. What is POF Shrink Film? POF Shrink Film (Polyolefin Oriented Film), also known as BOPE Shrink Film (Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Film), is a shrink film produced by biaxially stretching polyolefin using a double bubble method. Compared to traditional polyethylene blown film shrink film, POF Shrink Film exhibits excellent mechanical properties, good transparency, and uniform longitudinal and transverse shrinkage rates. Generally, POF Shrink Film can be classified into two categories: regular POF and cross-linked POF.
Regular POF Shrink Film is the mainstream product in the Chinese market. Most of them are three-layer co-extruded structures, with two outer layers made of polypropylene and a core layer made of linear low-density polyethylene. Compared to traditional PP Shrink Film and PVC Shrink Film, POF Shrink Film is softer, with better tear strength, puncture resistance, and low-temperature resistance. Therefore, it has largely replaced PP Shrink Film and PVC Shrink Film in the market.
Cross-linked POF film is an upgraded product of regular POF film. Unlike the PP/PE/PP co-extruded structure of regular POF film, cross-linked POF is a pure PE structure. After cross-linking, its physical properties and heat sealing strength are greatly improved compared to regular POF film, making it more adaptable to packaging machines.

II. Major Applications of POF Shrink Film
Bundling packaging for beverages and other products: Requires high shrinkage ratio, strength, and shrinkage force.
Packaging for toys, pharmaceuticals, etc.: Requires good optical performance, enhanced shelf appeal, and minimal "dog ears".
Packaging for books and magazines: Requires high transparency, minimal shrinkage force, and prevention of curling and deformation.
Food packaging: Requires minimal "dog ears", high glossiness; some also require low-temperature shrinkage for quick packaging without affecting the contents.
